- We allow only 30-35 participants per week to better serve each person's
musical needs.
- Small group classes gives everyone optimal time with the instructor.
- Four scheduled hours of group lessons and lots of time to practice on your own
- You will be grouped with others who are at the same skill level as you.
- You can set up individual lessons with your teacher or any other instructor
at the camp while you are there
- You do not need to know how to read sheet music nor will it be taught
- Much of the lessons will focus on ear training
- Theory will be taught starting at whatever level you are at
- We will provide you with some written material but not everything will
be written out for you so bring a recording device to retain all the info
- Evening concerts allow you to practice your performance skills
It takes time to make your brain understand and your hands execute what you
need to do to become a better player. We are giving you the 'tools' to
take home.
Evening concerts are not a mandatory part of the day but participants tell
us they are what they look forward to the most. Each instructor will perform
and any participant that would like to. There is no show on the last day of
camp. The general public is welcome to these concerts free of charge but we
will accept donations to the Violet Burke-Sharpe Memorial Bursary. See the
Memorial Bursary page for more details.
